Creating projects and optimizing systems is my fundamental passion in life. Seeing the world as an elaborate puzzle has led to a journey in entrepreneurship and exciting investments.
I see business the same way I see economics, philosophy, politics, and any other strategy-oriented field of study – it’s just an arena to test ideas. The prudent, rational, and curious are rewarded.
I have no interest in the lifestyles of most successful people. I’m extremely content in my modest, one-story home in a working class neighborhood in Conway, Arkansas. I launch new projects because I believe they should exist, not to fund a lifestyle of consumption.
Give me a nice glass of scotch and an occasional cigar and that’s all the consumption I need.
In 2008, while still in high school, I launched an online business based on website publishing and marketing. I created and managed a network of websites on topics ranging from financial planning to diesel generators. It was an incredibly rewarding period in life. The primary website was Learn Financial Planning.
In 2009, I attended Lyon College in Arkansas with the goal of majoring in economics. By the second semester, I realized that the price of the college was drastically higher than any value I’d receive from the basic education offered by the school. So I dropped out and instead worked work full time on my businesses.
In 2009, I also launched Live Gold Prices, a website that was my first experience in online news. The website focused on commodity news with an – obvious – emphasis on gold.
In 2011, I launched Capitalism Institute, a conservative and libertarian blog. I created this after taking a sociology class at a local community college. I was shocked at the Marxist lies being taught in the classroom. This project was an attempt to push back.
In 2013, I launched Conservative Tribune, a viral conservative publication. The goal was to build a publication that represented blue-collar conservatives rather than just the corporate-elite Republicans. It eventually became one of the most popular websites in the world. I sold it in 2015.
In 2015, I sold Conservative Tribune after some health problems from overworking. I was hospitalized once due to a lack of sleep. I took a couple of years off and relaxed.
In 2017, I launched Conservative Institute. It’s a premium conservative news and commentary publication. It’s a fairly small blog, but I’m very proud of the principled work we do.
In 2019, I launched Connell Financial Organization, a small financial company that borrows and lends money. My goal is to slowly snowball it into a substantial entity over time, but it will probably take years.
In 2019, I also launched Connell Oil & Gas, a company that invests directly in small oil wells in Texas. It also invests in oil and gas royalties.
Also in 2019, I launched Connell Real Estate and began purchasing residential properties, fixing them up, and renting them out. I started a few months ago and currently own four rental properties.
Over time, more projects will be launched. I’ll update this page when I do.
